Irving Cohen earned his law degree from the New York University School of Law.
After law school, Mr. Cohen joined a well-known Manhattan law firm which specialized in criminal cases. He shortly became a partner. All the while, he continued his legal education, earning a graduate law degree, a Masters in Criminal Justice with Honors from NYU in 1977. He then started his own firm in 1981. Later on in his career, Mr. Cohen taught criminal law for many years at the City University of New York.
In addition, for over thirty years, he has lent his expertise to trial practice programs at several law schools-most recently at Cardozo.
